Wh40K: Cadian Charge by StugMeister Wh40K: Cadian Charge by StugMeister
Hey guys...

(Drumroll)

I can now announce that my Cadian Charge pic is now complete!!

I do indeed declare victory over this piece of artwork, a piece that originally was meant to be an anatomical study of a bayonet-charging soldier but which exploded into this 19 hour beast you see before yourselves!!

(Epic music)

My friends, I present to you, THE finished piece...

This pic was done at 300DPi at 297mm x 297mm. Here are a few close-ups showing the detail...

lol! I know what you mean. If I were to ever have another go at painting a Cadian trooper, then methinks the shoulder pads would need to be a tad smaller. :)

Thanks for the thumbs up sir. :D

I do understand how hard it is to make normal sized pauldrons in a setting in which approx. five armies have huge ass shoulder-pads (SM, CSM, Sisters of Battle, Orks and to an extent Necrons)

This is amazing. I am sure there are things which could be critiqued but in the name of John Blanche and all things 40K I declare this worthy of the praise of the Emperor. The colour is incredible and obviously well thought out. The dynamic of this is truly inspiring with the perspective going so far into the distance to show the total scope of this war. The Warhound dwarfed beneath the shadow of his Imperator Titan big brother on the far ridge is just the cream on the top of this delicious cake of a picture. I think that your 19 hour effort was well worth it. I would say that with the small numbers of Cadians charging here though this is their LAST charge considering I would have expected a full compliment of Imperial Guard to blot out the rest of what can be seen with the weight of their numbers. Great work! I am faving!

As damn cool as this is now, I think it'd enhance the sense of motion and realism if there were some motion blur in the background, or towards the edges - though it'd suck to lose some of the detail in the background areas, would bring a lot more focus to the guy in front, know what I mean? Either way, looks pretty awesome.

I know what ya mean sir. It could do with a lot more carnage, it is a bit too clinical and clean.
